How to submit a session proposal, track its status, respond to change requests, and move into your speaker portal.
When an organizer shares their call-for-speakers link, you land on a branded page describing the event and what they're looking for. Click Submit a proposal to open the form. It's a short, step-by-step flow — about you, your talk, logistics, then a review before you send. No account or login is required.
Submitted before? You can import your profile from a past Gythr event, verified by a code sent to your email, so your bio and details fill in automatically.
If you pick a panel format, the form adds co-presenters — you're presenter #1, and you add everyone else presenting with you (name, email, title). If you pick a workshop, you'll add a capacity and any materials attendees need. Pick a regular talk and neither appears.
The moment you submit, you get a confirmation email with a private tracking link — no account needed. That link shows your current status (received, under review, accepted, or declined) so you can check in anytime without emailing the organizers to ask.
Sometimes an organizer accepts with a change — a tighter abstract, a different format, a shorter length. You'll get an email, and your status page opens a conversation with them. Reply right there: say yes you'll make the change (it goes back into review), that you can't, or ask a question. The whole exchange stays on your proposal.
When your proposal is accepted, that same private link becomes your self-service speaker portal — so you move from submission to speaker prep (materials, agreements, your session details) without ever creating a login. See Using your speaker portal for what's inside.
