Speaker Role Guidance

Set default instructions shown to speakers based on their role.

1

What Role Guidance Is

Role Guidance lets you write default instructions for each type of speaker, so the right expectations reach the right people automatically. Open Role Guidance from the Stage landing page. There's an editable block for each role:

  • Keynote Speaker
  • Panelist
  • Moderator
  • Host / Emcee
  • Speaker (Default)

Editing Guidance

Each role has a text box with sensible defaults (e.g. "Plan for Q&A in the last 10 minutes" for keynotes, or "The moderator leads — bring your own device + adapter" for panelists). Edit any of them to match how you run your event, click Save, or Reset to Default to restore the original wording.

Where Speakers See It

This guidance appears in the speaker portal alongside each session, based on the speaker's role — so a panelist and a keynote speaker each get instructions written for them, without you sending separate emails. For one-off, session-specific notes, use the Speaker Instructions field on the session in Agenda instead.
